Powell Street Festival , Canada’s largest festival of Japanese arts and culture, celebrates 40 years with a weekend full of live performances, martial arts, beautiful crafts, and delicious Japanese food! This year’s festival promises to be one of our biggest and best to date. Attendees will discover an interactive section in the park, a street party on Alexander Street, and all the beloved hallmarks of this unique event.

The eclectic lineup of performers includes Australian koto virtuoso Miyama McQueen-Tokita , Tutchone-Japanese Tlinget-Scottish folk singer Diyet , and the premiere of Chordophone , the violalooping electronica brainchild of brothers Marcus and James Takizawa.
