A Cast of 400+ Will Amaze and Delight as SHINE presents THE ARTS
SHINE is a showcase of Vancouver’s extraordinary talent. Not only do the volunteers, models (over 200), fashion designers, hair salons, hair stylists, make-up artists, singers, dancers, choreographers, musicians, and of course some of Vancouver’s most prominent Drag Queens give of their time and expertise, but 100% percent of all funds raised for mental health and addiction goes to support those in need of help.
THE ARTS is the theme for this year’s extravaganza, and recognizes and honours those in the arts who persevered in the face of mental health and addiction. Warhol to Whitney, Gaga to Chanel, and more recently Serena Ryder, who recently opened up about mental health. Dean Thullner says, “it’s essential for everyone to be able to express themselves on their own terms”. Thullner and his team promise the best event ever on Saturday September 22nd at the Commodore Ballroom!
16 Designers will be featured and 200 models will be attended to by 14 Salons,3 Independent Stylists, and Make-up artists.
Hosts and Auctioneer for SHINE 2018 are Fiona Forbes, Howard A. Blank, and The Unstoppable Conni Smudge.
Performers SHINE 2018
Arianna Abegayle: 15 year old singer songwriter from Vancouver, Arianna draws inspiration from artists like John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, and Demi Lovato. Arianna has sung the National Anthem at Vancouver Canucks home games.
Fraser Henderson: Singer-songwriter duo, performing acoustic/electric folk/pop music.
Nat: Believing music should come from the heart, Nat will be showing music that come from the heart and soul.
Cole Goodwin: Fashion designer and rapper/singer, Cole hails from Whistler and believes life is too short to wear boring clothes!
The stage will be graced by numerous dancers and choreographers including Mara Lewis, Desi Rekrut, The Archangels, Hayley Kohman, Nathan Fadear, Jacq Smith, Amanda Helen Collinge, and Sabra Lind.

Vancouver’s Biggest Fashion Runway: An Out Pouring of Love
There are many fashion shows that take place in Vancouver, including Fashion Week in Vancouver, but none have come close to what SHINE will be doing on Saturday, September 22, at the Commodore Ballroom.

SHINE is fundraiser for Mental Health Addiction and this years show is dedicated to honouring those who persevered in the face of metal illness and addition. Unlike other major events, SHINE has a cast of hundreds, and every penny raised is given to local mental health services.
Given that hundreds of people of participating in this event, means that thousands of hours of preparation have taken place. The scale of kindness is off the charts!
