It’s time to be fabulous, time to stand on a stage and sing. The Vancouver Men’s Chorus is holding auditions and now is the time to consider joining. Open rehearsals are scheduled for September 14, 21 and 28th and start around 7:30 pm, it’s best to arrive 15 minutes earlier. Where: Vancouver Academy of Music, 1270 Chestnut Street.
During the concert season VMC rehearses weekly on Wednesday nights and with a big show coming up the rehearsals are twice weekly. You will learn to memorize music, choreography, set up and take down of show sets and you will look great in a tuxedo.
For more than 30 years the VMC has delighted audiences locally and aboard. Canada’s first gay chorus and a member of the British Columbia Choral Federation., VMC is a fully registered charitable not-for-profit organization.
VMC is getting ready for their 2016 holiday season and no matter what your traditions are, the annual holiday show brings people together and it’s a great way to add a new tradition to your family and circle of friends. This years production is called Making Spirits Bright 2016: Family. Performances will be on Dec 10, 11, 15, 16 at 8pm and Dec 11 and 17th matinees at 3pm. The Venue is St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 1130 Jervis at Pendrell. Tickets go on sale November 1st with Patrons getting a release date of October 25th.
All ready in the works is a 2017 show called Singing Can Be A Drag, dates still to be confirmed but performances will take place at the Columbia Theatre in New Westminster and at the York Theatre in Vancouver.
