World OutGames Miami in Turmoil
Miami: With just hours before the Opening Ceremonies of the 10 day LGBT event, and as athletes were arriving and gathering from around the world, the World OutGames announced via social media that events are being canceled due to financial burdens.
The OutGames in Miami are scheduled to start May 26 and run till June 4, 2017.
As reported in the Miami Herald, the “bombshell revelation came via a short Facebook post from the event’s board of directors on Friday”, May 26, 2017.
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as most sporting events have been canceled. The exceptions being soccer, aquatics and country western dance.
