The launch party is part of Spectrum Events one year countdown to the First Annual Rainbowfest to be held in July 2018. Rainbowfest will be a 3 day event held in the Okanagan. BC’s beautiful interior will be setting, and 3 stages are promised. The artist lineup is being finalized and it promises to be an exciting time for people to connect with music and performances.
The ultimate aim of Rainbowfest is to offer a unique opportunity to unite the LGBTQ2+ community and bring awareness through a diverse group of contributors drawn from the LGBTQ2+ community, including artists, composers, and performers.

Amazing Acts, Amazing DJ’s
The launch will feature GoGo Dancers, Dance performances, Burlesque, Fire Fans and a terrific line up of fantastic DJ’s. The party will begin on the outdoor stage and move inside at 10pm.
There will be some giveaways and a special screening of the Rainbowfest 2018 official promo video.
DJ Line Up
Skylar Love, Influenced by Deep House, Bass music and Hiphop, this renegade DJ has love for all genres which is revealed through their original mashups and remixes. Skylar is a strong advocate on breaking barriers for queer DJs and has traveled all over headlining in major cities including Berlin, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Atlanta, San Francisco and Oakland.
Akimi, will bring you to your knees with her intricately woven soundscapes. For years she has collected a menage of beats and played a spectrum of genres at a number of festivals. From Hidden 2010 to Shambhala 2015 this lady will entice the audience into a trance of groovy yet spunky and unpredictable bliss.
Lola Phyne, Vancity bred up and coming producer Lola Phyne has been busy captivating local and international audiences for years. Known for her ever evolving style, no one can doubt that the common theme is deep, earth-quaking, booty shaking bass.
Body Party, The queer DJ duo behind the beats of all your favourite dance parties in East Vancouver. Bella and ManyBothans have been DJ’ing throughout BC for years individually, but when the two stepped on stage together in 2014, it was love at first mix. Now, after years of trading track for track at all your favourite queer parties in East Van, they have developed a rep for delivering all the hype all the time.
Leah Babe, Leah Babe is a home-grown Vancouver DJ, as well as a proud member of the local LGBTQ community. While a student in Victoria, Leah burst out of the closet and onto the decks, and has never looked back. She has opened for house talents like Le Youth, Lane 8, Viceroy, and Pat Lok.
AWOOD, From techno to disco, expect a ride through her set on a deep and groovy bass-line. AWOOD looks forward to taking you on a journey through the genre that was born from the queer dance parties of the 70s and 80s.
