Vancouver LGBTQ Summer 2017 Sports Events and Tournaments

Pride Sports Day and Pride Run

This event is free to the public and will include family friendly activities. Vancouver Frontrunners will host their annual Pride Run and Walk. Participants can choose between a 5 to 10 km run or walk in Vancouver’s jewel, Stanley Park.

The Pride Run and Walk meets at Second Beach in Stanley Park, Saturday July 22. Following the Run and Walk, the Pride Sports Day will be underway. Pride Sports Day will host a variety of sports and recreational activities, live music, a beer garden, and a sober space hosted by Last Door Recovery Society. Pride Sports Day has partnered with the Vancouver Canucks, BC Lions, and Vancouver Whitecaps.

Community groups will have displays, and there will be vendors, including food trucks.

WESA Cup Playoffs and Mabel League Final Tournament: over 30 LGBTQ2+ Baseball Teams

West End Slow-pitch Association – WESA’s 39th season Playoffs Tournament Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, at Strathcona Park. Round Robin games start at 8 AM on Saturday and will continue through Sunday until a champion team wins.

Teams Playing at the Playoffs are: Vogue, TRG, Stonehouse, Pumpjack, Vancity, Celebrities, Fountainhead, Numbers, Score, Nandos, Union Market, Dahl&Connors, Junction, Hamburger Marys, Attitude, and Home Hardware.

Mabel League Baseball – Final Tournament Weekend July 21 to July 23.

Competitive Teams in order of standing: Wombats, Somethin’ Naked, BB9, Sway, Plan B

Intermediate Teams in order of standing: Royals, Where My Pitches At?, Reckless, Rebels, Beavers

Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association

Summer Fling- Beach Volleyball Tournament Sunday August 13 at Urban Beach (900 Evans St.). An Epic beach volleyball tournament where you can meet, play and socialize. Learn more about beach volleyball and Grass League by visiting VGVA.

Vancouver’s LGBTQ+ Tennis Club

Vancouver International Pride (VIP) Tournament is an annual Gay, Lesbian Tennis Alliance tournament held in Vancouver by the Vancouver Tennis Association. The Tournament takes place August 5 to 7 in Stanley Park.

Out For Kicks – Soccer

Vancouver Tournament is July 22 at Trillium Park and Playoffs start on August 15th at Andy Livingston Park. The Final Playoff will be August 30th at Andy Livingston Park. The annual Drag Game will happen on August 30th at Andy Livingston Park. On August 19th, the Vancouver Whitecaps will have a Pride Game. Check out Out For Kicks for full schedule.
